Description

These crispy squares are packed with cinnamon-sugar flavor and are perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (plus more for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar mixture (for topping)
Instructions
    Preheat the oven.
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Dough:
  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add Wet Ingredients:
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract. Mix until the dough comes together. It should be soft but not too sticky.
  6. Roll Out the Dough:
  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Try to keep it as even as possible.
  8. Cut into Squares:
  9. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into small squares (about 1 inch by 1 inch). Place the squares onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  10. Brush with Butter:
  11. Brush the tops of the squares with the melted butter.
  12. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  13. Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered squares.
  14. Bake:
  15. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the squares are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them, as they can burn quickly.
  16. Cool and Serve:
  17. Let the cinnamon toast crunch squares cool completely on a wire rack. They will become crispier as they cool. Enjoy them as a cereal with milk or as a snack on their own.
Note
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • Cinnamon Sugar: You can adjust the amount of cinnamon in the sugar mixture to taste.
  • Variations: For a different flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or using brown sugar instead of white sugar.
