Paneer Chowmein is a delightful fusion dish that brings together the best of Indian and Chinese cuisines. This recipe combines stir-fried noodles with crispy, golden paneer cubes and crunchy vegetables, all tossed in a medley of flavorful sauces.

Ingredients
  • 200 grams of paneer, cut into cubes
  • 200 grams of chowmein noodles
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1/2 cup capsicum (bell pepper)
  • 1/2 cup cabbage, thinly shredded
  • 2 cloves 2-3 garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 ginger, -inch finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons 2-3 oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Spring onions for garnish
Instructions
  1. Cook the Noodles
    • Boil water in a large pot and add a pinch of salt and a few drops of oil.
    • Add the noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain the noodles, rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process, and set them aside.
  2. Prepare the Paneer

    Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, and lightly fry the paneer cubes until golden on all sides. Remove and set aside.

  3. Stir-fry the Vegetables
    • In the same pan, add 1-2 tablespoons of oil.
    • Add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
    • Add sliced onions and stir-fry until they turn slightly golden.
    • Add carrots, capsicum, and cabbage. Stir-fry on high heat for 3-4 minutes, keeping the vegetables crunchy.
  4. Add Sauces
      • Add soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, black pepper powder, and vinegar to the pan. Mix well.
  5. Combine Noodles, Paneer, and Vegetables
    • Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss everything together gently.
    • Add the fried paneer cubes and mix well, ensuring that the noodles and paneer are coated with the sauces.
  6. Season and Garnish
    • Taste and adjust salt if needed.
    • Garnish with chopped spring onions.
  7. Serve Hot
