    • Pour in the tamarind pulp and cook for 2-3 minutes.
    • Add the mashed dal and mix well. Pour in 2 cups of water, adjust the salt, and bring to a boil.
    • Reduce the heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes.
    • Add asafoetida, curry leaves, and fresh coriander leaves.
    • Turn off the heat.
